Stock Control Manager

About the role

The Stock Control Manager will lead the Stock Control team to ensure high product availability, minimise cost to serve and support the overall customer fulfilment strategy. This role is responsible for driving inventory health, accuracy and efficient stock‑housekeeping across the supply chain.

Key responsibilities

• Lead regular reviews of MOQ, Min/Max/Safety Stock levels and supplier value holdings to optimise stock levels and enable auto‑ordering.
• Identify products at risk of stock‑out, pull deliveries forward and maintain high stock accuracy.
• Continuously improve stock‑sheet processes, supplier meetings and other operational timings for efficiency.
• Manage customer‑specific ranges through product lifecycle, NPI and performance analysis.
• Provide accurate forecasts for seasonal, promotional and peak activities to support demand planning.
• Support the creation and re‑forecasting of the stock Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and deliver against agreed targets.
• Act as the internal liaison for new ranges and major customer requirements, ensuring clear communication across the supply chain.
• Lead projects to implement new systems, tools and processes that improve data accuracy and agility of the Stock Control function.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing a team and setting clear expectations.
• Background in stock/inventory control or broader supply‑chain operations.
• Strong analytical ability to review MOQ, stock holdings and timing metrics.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present information effectively.
• Knowledge of supply‑chain and inventory‑control principles, including stock health metrics such as Min/Max/Safety Stock.
• Experience working with stakeholders at all organisational levels.
