Surgical R&D & Clinical Innovation Lead

About the role

Cerahi Industries is seeking a visionary leader to drive research, development and clinical innovation for next‑generation surgical instruments. You will act as the strategic bridge between surgeons, researchers and our precision engineering teams, shaping high‑value product lines for advanced surgical segments.

Key responsibilities

• Build collaborative pipelines with surgeons, medical researchers and trainees to identify unmet clinical needs and turn concepts into functional prototypes.
• Analyze global market trends and define high‑value product lines such as titanium alloys, electrosurgical instruments and ergonomic micro‑instruments.
• Establish structured R&D workflows, clinical trial protocols, biocompatibility benchmarks and prototype validation methods.
• Work directly with CNC machining, CAD/CAM design and metallurgical teams to refine ergonomics, material selection and durability.
• Ensure designs comply with international standards (ISO 13485, CE, EU MDR, US FDA).

Required profile

• Degree in MBBS, Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science or related field (Master’s/Ph.D. preferred).
• 5+ years of experience in surgical application, medical device R&D or clinical research collaboration.
• Strong communication skills in written and spoken English.
• Familiarity with international medical device regulatory standards (EU MDR, ISO 13485).
• Ability to work onsite in Lahore, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with data analysis tools such as Excel and statistical software.
• Experience with CAD/CAM design and CNC machining processes.
• Knowledge of material specifications (Grade 5 Titanium, AISI surgical stainless steel).
