Tax & Accounting Associate (Remote)

About the role

Our client, The AccTax, is seeking a diligent Tax & Accounting Associate to support its Canadian accounting practice. The position is fully remote, based in Pakistan, with occasional meetings in Lahore, and is ideal for a part‑qualified ACCA/CA candidate or a recent graduate with a solid grounding in bookkeeping and finance.

Key responsibilities

• Process and categorize daily financial transactions in QuickBooks Online and Desktop, maintaining accurate cloud‑based records.
• Perform bank and credit‑card reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure data integrity.
• Assist with Canadian corporate (T2) and personal (T1) tax preparation, GST/HST filings, and payroll processing after training.
• Maintain organized electronic client files, including source documents and receipts.
• Draft professional English correspondence with clients and the Canada Revenue Agency to obtain missing information and respond to routine inquiries.
• Track accounts receivable/payable, monitor payments, and support vendor communications.
• Prepare regular financial summaries and reports, and update task lists for virtual team meetings.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified or newly affiliated ACCA/CA candidate with foundational accounting experience.
• Strong attention to detail, high confidentiality, and ability to work autonomously.
• Excellent written English communication skills for client interaction.
