Tax Lead

About the role

The Tax Lead will oversee both direct and indirect tax compliance for a fast‑growing portfolio of ventures operating in Pakistan and the UAE. The role supports the evolution of the group’s tax function, ensuring accurate filings, strategic planning, and cross‑border coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and file corporate income tax, withholding tax, sales tax/VAT returns, maintaining a compliance calendar.
• Develop tax planning options to optimise the effective tax rate and analyse tax implications of new products, contracts and cross‑border transactions.
• Coordinate group tax structuring, new entity setups and expansion into new jurisdictions, working closely with legal counsel and external advisors.
• Support tax audits, assessments and authority inquiries, maintaining audit‑ready records and monitoring regulatory changes.
• Provide tax projections and provisions for financial planning, and respond to routine tax queries from Finance, Legal and Operations.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation or related field; professional qualification (ACCA, ACA, CA, CPA) is a plus.
• 4+ years of progressive tax experience, including at least 2 years in a tax advisory firm or an IT/retail company.
• Strong knowledge of Pakistan tax law and UAE corporate tax and VAT.
• Hands‑on experience with tax compliance, filings and communication with tax authorities.
• Excellent analytical ability, attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Fluent written and spoken English with the ability to explain tax matters to non‑technical stakeholders.
