Tax Manager – Compliance & Reporting

About the role

We are seeking a Tax Manager to lead compliance and reporting functions for Aisha Steel Mill Limited in Karachi. The role involves overseeing tax return preparation, ensuring adherence to Pakistani tax laws, and managing a team of four tax professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise timely processing of regulatory payments, including sales tax and withholding taxes.
• Oversee filing of quarterly and annual withholding tax statements and sales tax returns.
• Prepare and file annual income tax returns and quarterly advance tax calculations.
• Review tax notices, coordinate documentation, and support appeals before CIR, ATIR, and High Court.
• Maintain monthly reconciliation of tax‑related general ledger accounts.
• Provide tax guidance to internal departments and prepare exemption applications.
• Monitor changes in tax legislation, prepare budget briefs, and advise management on implications.
• Identify tax planning opportunities and mitigate tax risks.

Required profile

• MBA in Finance or BBA with extensive tax experience.
• Professional qualification such as ICAP CAF or ACCA with relevant articling.
• In‑depth knowledge of Pakistan tax regulations and ability to interpret complex tax laws.
• Proven leadership experience managing a small taxation team.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
