Team Leader – Infrastructure Project

About the role

SMEC is seeking an experienced Team Leader to drive a major infrastructure development project in Islamabad, Pakistan. The role provides strategic leadership, oversees project delivery and coordinates multiple stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and direction for project implementation and delivery.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams in planning, coordinating and monitoring project activities.
• Develop technical solutions and implementation strategies aligned with project objectives.
• Ensure project activities adhere to approved plans, schedules and quality standards.
• Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, consultants and contractors to facilitate efficient execution.
• Monitor progress, identify performance improvement opportunities and manage risks.
• Review project documentation, reports and technical submissions for consistency and quality.
• Foster collaboration among project teams and key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; a Master’s in Engineering Management, Construction Management, Project Management or related field is advantageous.
• Minimum 15 years of professional experience in infrastructure, construction or engineering projects.
• Proven experience leading large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies, construction practices and engineering management principles.
• Experience in consulting environments and managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
