Technical Consultant – Identity Management & Data Protection

About the role

Thales is seeking a Technical Consultant to act as the primary technical interface with customers for identity management and data‑protection solutions. You will combine pre‑sales expertise, project ownership and hands‑on technical support to ensure successful delivery of card‑related and digital security projects.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the main technical contact between customers and Thales/DIS, understanding their card‑related solutions and digital security needs.
• Provide pre‑sales technical support, capture requirements and produce preliminary specifications for new projects.
• Prepare effort, cost and technical responses to RFI/RFQ requests.
• Lead project ownership activities, controlling schedules, budgets and coordinating internal teams (EMV consulting, personalization, etc.).
• Organise and lead project kick‑off, follow‑up and status meetings with customers.
• Develop and validate test plans, manage bug reporting and ensure timely delivery of specifications and test results.
• Identify strategic initiatives to strengthen business relationships and promote Thales products.
• Handle project changes, acceptance criteria and external billing processes.

Required profile

• Solid understanding of card‑based solutions, identity management and digital security concepts.
• Experience in technical pre‑sales, solution design and customer facing roles.
• Proven project management skills, including risk, schedule and cost control.
• Ability to coordinate cross‑functional teams and communicate technical information clearly.
• Strong analytical mindset and problem‑solving capabilities.
