Technical Lead, IoT Platform (ThingsBoard)

About the role

We are building a large‑scale smart campus IoT platform and mobile app that integrates building management, CCTV, access control, parking, SAP and ArcGIS. As a hands‑on Technical Lead / Solution Architect you will own the architecture, guide a team of senior engineers and ensure the platform is production‑ready.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical architecture and make key design decisions across the platform.
• Lead a team of seven senior engineers, review code, set development standards and resolve technical blockers.
• Design and oversee integrations with building management, CCTV, access control, parking, SAP, ArcGIS and other enterprise systems.
• Handle authentication and access management using Keycloak, Active Directory and OAuth2/OIDC.
• Ensure performance, security, reliability and scalability of the platform.
• Support deployment, troubleshooting and production readiness through go‑live.

Required profile

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a technical lead or architecture role.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices and distributed systems.
• Experience with ThingsBoard or another IoT platform and event‑driven technologies such as Kafka.
• Good knowledge of PostgreSQL, Cassandra or similar databases.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and production deployments.
• Understanding of authentication mechanisms including Keycloak, Active Directory and OAuth2/OIDC.
