TechOps Engineer

About the role

SS&C is looking for a TechOps Engineer to ensure operational excellence, reliability and scalability of its platform and application services. The role combines systems administration, technical support and automation to keep production environments healthy and performant.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain production and staging environments, participating in on‑call rotations and incident management.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve incidents across services and infrastructure, collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
• Automate repetitive operational tasks using scripts, AI and RPA tools to reduce manual toil.
• Implement observability practices with Grafana, Datadog, Splunk and Prometheus, creating metrics, dashboards and alerts.
• Develop and maintain runbooks, playbooks and automation for common failure modes.
• Define and measure SLIs/SLOs, manage error budgets and drive reliability improvements.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, deployments and rollback strategies.
• Lead blameless post‑mortems and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to influence architecture for operability, capacity planning and performance tuning.

Required profile

• Experience operating production systems and handling incident management.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for complex client applications and integrations.
• Ability to design and implement automation to eliminate manual operational work.
• Familiarity with observability concepts and creating actionable alerts.
• Comfort working in a hybrid environment and participating in on‑call rotations.
