Transactional Finance Assistant – Finance Operations

About the role

The Transactional Finance Assistant will support core financial operations in a fast‑paced environment. You will ensure accurate processing of invoices, payments and payroll data while providing timely assistance to the wider finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices, credit notes and purchase orders; raise sales invoices and manage customer accounts.
• Prepare BACS, CHAPS, direct debit and card payment files, applying strict approval and security controls.
• Assist with timesheet preparation, overtime, deductions and payroll change information.
• Perform bank and supplier statement reconciliations and maintain audit trails.
• Act as the primary contact for supplier, customer and internal finance queries.

Required profile

• Proven experience in transactional finance, accounts payable/receivable or payroll administration.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle high‑volume processing under tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with month‑end close activities such as accruals and pre‑payments is desirable.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with accounting software such as Xero or Sage.
