Underwriter (Commercial Credit)

About the role

Capchase is seeking a detail‑oriented Underwriter to join its Credit team. You will review credit profiles of potential borrowers, apply proprietary credit policies, and help vendors and channel partners close deals with fast credit decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform risk assessments on potential commercial borrowers using credit bureau data, internal borrowing history, and firmographic factors.
• Evaluate compliance requirements, including OFAC and KYC screening.
• Apply the proprietary credit policy to assign borrower ratings, credit limits, and specific loan features.
• Clearly articulate when additional details or financial documents are needed.
• Review borrower documents for accuracy and completeness.
• Spread financial information and analyze standard financial ratios.
• Support colleagues and leaders in large, complex transactions.
• Record loan application decisions and the basis for each decision.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years experience in commercial financial services, credit risk preferred.
• 3+ years underwriting commercial borrowers.
• 2+ years in a high‑volume transactional operations environment.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, engineering, computer science, or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical capabilities with excellent attention to detail.
• Experience with US commercial lending practices.
• Ability to maintain US working hours and holiday schedule.

Required skills

• Salesforce or a comparable loan origination/CRM system.
