Urdu Linguistic QA Specialist – Remote

About the role

In this hourly, remote contractor role you will act as the Urdu Quality Assurance Lead, overseeing quality, consistency and trainer performance across AI training projects. You will review AI‑generated Urdu content, evaluate output against detailed rubrics and provide precise written feedback to ensure cultural appropriateness and linguistic accuracy.

Key responsibilities

• Review AI‑generated Urdu content and trainer/QA work for accuracy, fluency, grammar, tone and cultural relevance.
• Evaluate output against project‑specific rubrics and provide clear written feedback in English.
• Identify recurring quality issues, communicate updates to trainers and QAs, and maintain style guides, FAQs and onboarding material.
• Support onboarding of new contributors and reactivate those with inconsistent performance.
• Maintain documentation, trackers and dashboards to monitor quality metrics.
• Collaborate with remote teams using tools such as Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs and project‑management systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Urdu, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, English, Education, Quality Assurance or a related field.
• Native or near‑native proficiency in Urdu with strong reading and writing skills.
• Strong command of English for following guidelines and providing feedback.
• 3+ years of professional experience in Urdu writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training or related language‑review workflows.
• Deep understanding of Urdu grammar, spelling, punctuation, tone, register, Nastaliq script conventions and right‑to‑left formatting.
• Ability to evaluate content against detailed rubrics and spot issues such as mistranslation, unnatural tone, formatting problems or hallucinated claims.
• Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators or reviewers is strongly preferred.
