Virtual Medical Assistant – Gynecology Practice

About the role

The Virtual Medical Assistant supports gynecology providers by handling patient scheduling, reminders, follow‑up coordination and telemedicine workflows. This full‑time, on‑site position ensures accurate medical records and a patient‑centered experience.

Key responsibilities

• Manage patient scheduling, appointment reminders and follow‑up coordination.
• Maintain accurate medical records, document patient encounters and update histories using gynecology‑specific terminology.
• Handle patient inquiries, provide procedure instructions and facilitate insurance verification and prior authorizations.
• Collaborate with clinicians and administrative staff to ensure smooth clinic operations and timely documentation.

Required profile

• Strong medical assisting skills with experience in gynecology or women’s health settings.
• Solid knowledge of medical terminology, especially gynecology‑related terms.
• Experience in a medical office environment, including front‑desk operations and appointment coordination.
• Patient‑focused communication, privacy awareness and cultural sensitivity.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and data security standards.
• Ability to verify insurance and process prior authorizations.
