Volunteer Mentor for Law Students (Remote)

About the role

The 80% Bar is seeking enthusiastic legal professionals to join as Volunteer Mentors. In this full‑time remote position you will guide groups of Pakistani law students, helping them navigate academic challenges, career pathways, and personal development within the legal sector.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular virtual group sessions and one‑on‑one check‑ins with mentees.
• Advise students on internship, moot court, and career opportunities.
• Assist mentees in setting realistic goals and tracking progress.
• Share insights on ethical practice, professional skills, and legal career trajectories.
• Document mentorship interactions and provide feedback to the organizing team.
• Participate in periodic mentor training and reflection meetings.

Required profile

• Strong mentoring and coaching abilities, including active listening and constructive feedback.
• Solid understanding of the legal profession in Pakistan; experience in litigation, corporate law, academia, or public‑interest law is a plus.
• Excellent written and spoken English; proficiency in Urdu or regional languages is advantageous.
• Commitment to educational equity, ethical conduct, and an inclusive environment.
• LLB or equivalent legal qualification (completed or in advanced stages); postgraduate studies or international exposure are beneficial.
• Ability to dedicate consistent time each month and coordinate with the 80% Bar team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with remote collaboration tools such as Zoom and Google Meet.
• Basic digital literacy for managing schedules, documentation, and email communication.
