Web Development Team Lead (PHP/Laravel)

About the role

Hirewise is recruiting, through its client, a Web Development Team Lead based in Faisalabad. The role leads a multidisciplinary engineering team of about 20 people and oversees the architecture, integrations, performance, security and delivery standards of enterprise-level web applications. It is a full-time, on-site position within the Information Technology / Software Engineering department.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and development of enterprise web applications
• Manage and mentor a team of around 15-20 engineers
• Oversee payment gateway and third-party system integrations
• Establish code review, testing and quality standards
• Manage Agile/Scrum workflows, sprint planning and resource allocation
• Improve application performance, scalability and security
• Define best practices for Git workflows, CI/CD and technical documentation
• Promote AI-assisted development practices and conduct performance reviews

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in web and software development
• 2-3+ years in technical leadership or engineering management
• Experience managing a team of 15-20+ engineers
• Strong hands-on expertise in PHP and Laravel
• Good knowledge of MySQL/PostgreSQL, Redis, Linux and CI/CD
• Understanding of code reviews, automated testing, application security and performance optimization
• Experience with AI-assisted tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor or LLM-based tools
