Accountant

About the role

GRJ Agriculture and Livestock is looking for a meticulous Accountant to manage day‑to‑day financial operations, maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Pakistani regulations. The position is based on‑site in Karachi and reports to senior management while collaborating with procurement, sales and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger, prepare journal entries and perform monthly account reconciliations.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely settlements with vendors and customers.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements together with supporting schedules.
• Manage payroll processing, statutory deductions (EPF/ETF) and related filings.
• Assist with budgeting, cash‑flow forecasting and variance analysis.
• Ensure compliance with taxation, sales tax and other statutory requirements; prepare returns and coordinate with tax advisors and auditors.
• Support export documentation and financial coordination for export activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 + years practical accounting experience in a corporate or agricultural environment.
• Practical knowledge of Pakistani taxation, statutory requirements and EPF/ETF calculations.
• Experience with general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations and month‑end close.
• Professional certification (ACCA, CA or part‑qualified) is a plus.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage or Tally.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills – VLOOKUP, pivot tables and formulas.
