Accountant

About the role

Umerco, an IBM Partner, is seeking a detail‑oriented Accountant to join its finance team in Valencia Town, Lahore. This full‑time, on‑site position works night‑shift hours to align with US operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable.
• Create and verify customer invoices against orders, purchase orders and sales tax.
• Follow up on late payments, reconcile distributor quotes and track margins.
• Maintain deal and payment trackers, record ledger and journal entries, and perform bank and credit‑card reconciliations.
• Prepare vendor payments, contractor invoices, payroll, expense reports and assist with month‑end and year‑end closing.
• Produce financial statements, monthly margin and expense reports, and monitor subscriptions, budgets and tax filings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with US‑based clients.
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, financial reporting, taxation and compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and handle confidential information.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks or Xero.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.
• Experience using tracker tools like Smartsheet.
