Accountant – School Finance Management

About the role

The Accountant will oversee the daily financial operations of Abexsun Grammar School, ensuring accurate recording, reconciliation, and reporting of all monetary activities.

Key responsibilities

• Record and reconcile transactions, maintain general ledgers, and prepare financial statements.
• Manage accounts payable and receivable, monitor cash flow, and handle payroll and staff expense claims.
• Ensure timely fee collection, accurate student billing, and support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Assist in financial reporting for school management and ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations.
• Collaborate with school administration to provide financial insights, maintain organized documentation, and support internal and external audits.

Required profile

• Strong core accounting skills including bookkeeping, ledger management, and financial statement preparation.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis for effective planning.
• Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheet tools, with solid data‑entry and record‑keeping abilities.
• Knowledge of local tax regulations, payroll processing, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines in a school environment.
• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with academic and administrative staff.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CA, CMA) is a plus.
• Prior experience in education‑sector finance is beneficial but not mandatory.
