Accountant – Statutory Accounts & Tax Returns

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Accountant to manage statutory accounts, tax returns and management reporting for a portfolio of sole traders, partnerships and SMEs. You will work closely with the Team Manager to ensure accurate and timely delivery of financial information.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare statutory accounts, profit & loss statements and balance sheets for various client structures.
• Perform bookkeeping using accountancy software and prepare quarterly VAT returns.
• Compile and submit corporation and personal tax returns, including self‑employment, UK property, non‑resident landlord and capital gains tax.
• Produce monthly management information such as budgets, cash‑flow statements and other ad‑hoc reports.
• Reconcile control accounts and report directly to the Team Manager.

Required profile

• ACCA qualified or part‑qualified (professional level student).
• Preferably experienced in a UK‑based accounting firm.
• Self‑motivated, deadline‑driven and able to collaborate with team members.
• Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficient in spoken and written English.
