Accountant (UK clients) – Rawalpindi

About the role

Our client NEXA, a reputable UK‑based accountancy firm, is seeking an experienced Accountant to join its small team in Rawalpindi. You will be responsible for preparing and filing year‑end accounts for a range of UK clients, including SMEs, limited companies, sole traders and partnerships, as well as handling Self Assessment, corporation tax and VAT returns.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and supervise a team of four accounting professionals, providing technical guidance.
• Review bookkeeping, VAT, accounts and tax work for accuracy and UK compliance.
• Allocate client work, monitor statutory deadlines and ensure timely completion.
• Maintain nominal ledger records, post invoices, bank transactions, journals and adjustments.
• Perform bank and control account reconciliations.
• Prepare and review VAT returns, year‑end accounts and tax filings.
• Utilise Xero and Microsoft Excel for accounts production, reporting and analysis.
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies promptly.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards, tax legislation and VAT rules.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure.
• Professional communication skills for handling client queries.
