About the role
The Aero Medical Coordinator supports the Accountable Manager for the Aerodrome Operations Centre (AOC) by ensuring medical compliance for air crew and flight operations officers. The role involves coordinating medical examinations, health reporting, and drug/alcohol testing in line with PCAA policies.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in medical examinations for air crew and flight operations officers during induction and revalidation.
- Maintain daily sick reports for cockpit and cabin crew and keep accurate records.
- Conduct pre‑ and post‑flight alcohol breathalyzer checks and random psychoactive drug testing, generating test reports.
- Arrange appointments with hospitals, consultants, and aeromedical authorities, and liaise with the CAA for crew medical examinations.
- Replenish medical kits on aircraft and first‑aid kits in the office, and provide first‑aid cover during SEP training.
Required profile
- Degree or Honours (12+4 or equivalent), BS Nursing or Medical Technology.
- Experience in aviation aero‑medical preferred.
- Ability to use technology systems and tools.
