AP/AR Specialist (Remote)

About the role

The AP/AR Specialist supports the Finance department by managing both accounts payable and accounts receivable functions for commercial real‑estate properties. This fully remote position works closely with property managers, accountants and external vendors to ensure accurate financial processing.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate with managers and clients regarding receivables and payables in a timely manner.
• Apply daily rental payments for commercial tenants and post prepaid rents and concessions monthly.
• Research and resolve discrepancies between posted charges and cash receipts.
• Sort, scan and accurately enter invoices into the AP system.
• Verify authorized check disbursements, issue checks, void items and stop payments.
• Set up new vendors, maintain vendor documentation and issue annual tax forms (Form 1099).
• Perform special projects and maintain secure financial records.

• Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate clearly with accountants, property managers and senior leadership.
• Self‑motivated and capable of working independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Positive attitude and willingness to multitask across multiple internal clients.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with Yardi property‑management software (preferred).
