Architectural Engineer (Managerial Role)

About the role

Alphatrons is looking for an experienced Architectural Engineer to lead building design projects across the United States and Canada. The role involves guiding projects from concept through municipal approval to final completion, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Research and interpret building codes, zoning bylaws, and municipal requirements for each project.
• Conduct site‑specific zoning analyses and translate regulatory constraints into design parameters.
• Direct the design team in producing complete, code‑compliant drawing packages.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary consultants and the project coordination team to create submission‑ready documentation.
• Serve as the primary technical liaison with city and municipal authorities to secure permits and approvals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• Proven experience in building design and the municipal approvals process.
• Strong leadership, coordination, and project‑management abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with clients, authorities, and project partners.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Experience with Revit or similar BIM tools (an asset).
• Knowledge of CAD/BIM software for design and drafting.
