Area Head of Direct Transport Sales

About the role

We are looking for an experienced commercial leader to head our Direct Transport Sales division. The role will drive growth, acquire new customers and expand market share across transportation and logistics services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a high‑performing sales team to exceed volume, revenue, profitability and market‑share targets.
• Develop and execute sales strategies for new customer acquisition and deeper penetration of existing accounts.
• Manage commercial negotiations, pricing, RFQs, RFPs and tender processes.
• Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline and ensure disciplined execution.
• Collaborate with finance, capacity, product and campaign teams to set targets, incentives and performance measures.
• Analyse market trends, competitor activity and asset utilisation to identify growth opportunities.
• Champion customer‑centric initiatives to improve satisfaction, NPS and wallet share.
• Maintain strong relationships with regional and global stakeholders across sales, customer service, product and supply‑chain functions.

Required profile

• Proven track record of leading sales teams and winning new business in transportation, freight forwarding, ocean logistics or related sectors.
• Demonstrated ability to expand market share and deliver sustainable commercial growth.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience in pricing, negotiations and tender management.
• Excellent stakeholder management and ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
