Art Teacher for Upper Primary

About the role

The school seeks an enthusiastic Art Teacher to plan and deliver engaging art lessons for upper primary students, fostering creativity and artistic expression while supporting school events and exhibitions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and teach age‑appropriate art lessons covering drawing, painting, sketching, craftwork and mixed‑media techniques.
• Assess student work, provide constructive feedback and maintain an inclusive, well‑organised classroom.
• Plan and execute creative art‑related activities for school events, national days and cultural celebrations, including backdrops, decorations and visual displays.
• Organise student art exhibitions, competitions and showcases, guiding students in preparation and installation.
• Manage art supplies, ensure safe use of tools, and keep the classroom environment clean and refreshed.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of relevant art teaching experience, preferably at primary or upper primary level.
• Degree or qualification in Fine Arts, Visual Arts or a related field (preferred).
• Strong artistic, creative and visual design abilities.
• Excellent classroom management, communication and organisational skills.
• Experience with event décor, exhibitions or stage design is an advantage.
