Assistant Accountant

About the role

VD Biotech is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join its finance team in Multan. The position will support accurate financial record‑keeping and day‑to‑day accounting activities within a pharmaceutical‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Record routine financial transactions, including invoices, receipts, payments and expense documentation.
• Assist with ledger maintenance, account reconciliations and preparation of supporting schedules.
• Verify source documents, identify discrepancies and ensure completeness of information.
• Support the preparation of basic financial reports and management accounting summaries.
• Maintain orderly physical and electronic filing of accounting records.
• Coordinate with internal departments to collect required documents and clarify transactions.
• Assist with audits, month‑end closing activities and other finance tasks assigned by the supervisor.

Required profile

• Working knowledge of bookkeeping principles, journal entries, ledgers and account reconciliation.
• Ability to record and verify invoices, receipts, payments and expenses accurately.
• Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies.
• Good document management, filing, follow‑up and time‑management skills.
• Ability to protect confidential financial information and follow internal controls.
• Clear communication and willingness to collaborate with finance and non‑finance teams.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, sorting, filtering, spreadsheet organization).
• Familiarity with accounting software or computerized financial record systems.
