Assistant Financial Controller

About the role

You will support the Financial Controller in delivering accurate financial reporting, month‑end close, and balance‑sheet control for GSK Pakistan. Working closely with local business partners, shared services, tax advisors and regional finance teams, you will gain deep technical experience and influence business decisions within a global biopharma environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and execute month‑end close activities for assigned legal entities, including journal preparation and review.
• Prepare and review balance‑sheet reconciliations and high‑risk account reviews, ensuring timely resolution of open items.
• Produce monthly financial packs and present results and insights to the Financial Controller and business stakeholders.
• Ensure accounting treatments comply with IFRS, local statutory requirements and internal control standards.
• Support statutory reporting, tax submissions and external audit requests by coordinating with external advisers and shared‑service teams.
• Drive process improvements and participate in local finance projects to increase efficiency and control.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, audit, financial reporting or controlling.
• Solid knowledge of IFRS and month‑end close procedures.
• Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CA or equivalent), part‑qualified or completed.
• Experience working in a multinational company or shared‑service environment.
• Proven experience supporting external audits and statutory reporting.
• Strong communication skills in English; Urdu or other local language is an advantage.
