Assistant Manager Accounting

About the role

We are looking for an Assistant Manager Accounting to maintain our books, ensure accurate recording of financial transactions, and support the finance team in delivering timely reports.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the books of account and ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the accounting system.
• Prepare monthly payments, including vouchers for bank payments, receipts, and maintain supporting documentation.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliation statements and reconcile all ledger balances.
• Prepare periodic management accounts such as Statement of Financial Position, Income and Expenditure Statement, and budget variance reports.
• Prepare reimbursement notes to member banks and maintain related records.
• Maintain accounting records for investments, including treasury bills, term deposits, and other financial instruments, together with related income.
• Ensure compliance with income tax and sales tax withholding requirements and assist in statutory filings.
• Maintain fixed asset records, schedules of advances, accruals, prepayments, and other supporting schedules.
• Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, banks, and regulatory authorities by providing required information and documents.
• Assist in preparing the annual budget, cash flow forecasts, and other financial reports for the Executive Committee and management.
• Ensure proper maintenance of accounting records and supporting documentation in line with accounting standards and internal policies.
