Assistant Manager - Credit Control and Recovery

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Credit Control and Recovery supports the Credit Recovery Manager in safeguarding the company’s cash flow. The role ensures invoices are collected on time, credit is effectively managed, and overdue debt is minimized.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor customer accounts regularly, including credit limits, outstanding invoices, and payment performance.
• Assess customer credit risk by evaluating financial information and payment histories, enforcing agreed payment terms.
• Identify customers who exceed credit limits or consistently delay payments and escalate for action.
• Minimize overdue and aged debt through effective collection strategies and prompt dispute resolution.
• Oversee the balance between recoverable and payable amounts to support strong cash‑flow management.
• Prevent unauthorized or extended credit usage that could negatively impact finances.
• Supervise and guide the credit control team, promoting skill development and adherence to procedures.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for difficult accounts and complex credit issues.
• Prepare and analyze regular reports on debt status, collections progress, credit exposure, and cash‑flow risks.
• Collaborate with Finance, Sales, and Operations to resolve customer account disputes.
• Set and ensure achievement of collection targets for the credit control team.
• Maintain compliance with credit policies and procedures to reduce financial risk.
