Assistant Manager – Electrical (Outreach)

About the role

The Assistant Manager (Electrical) – Outreach will ensure reliable operation of high‑tension (HT) and low‑tension (LT) electrical networks across all Aga Khan University outreach facilities. The role combines hands‑on maintenance, technical supervision, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders to guarantee uninterrupted services.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and supervise routine, reactive, and emergency electrical maintenance for facilities such as phlebotomy centres, labs, medical centres, pharmacies, secondary hospitals, and call‑centre offices.
• Coordinate with local electricity providers and manage contracts with external service providers.
• Supervise technical staff, assign tasks, and ensure safe work practices.
• Conduct inspections and audits to verify compliance with university policies, JCIA, ISO 9001, ISO 2015 and SafeCare standards.
• Perform technical appraisal of new electrical and instrumentation equipment.
• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities and compliance records.

Required profile

• Proven experience in electrical maintenance and supervision within a healthcare or institutional environment.
• Strong communication skills to interact with staff, contractors, and clinical teams.
• Ability to manage multiple sites and prioritize emergency interventions.
• Familiarity with regulatory standards (JCIA, ISO 9001, ISO 2015, SafeCare).
