Assistant Manager Power House

About the role

The Assistant Manager Power House will lead the planning and safe execution of all maintenance activities for the power generation and distribution assets at Port Qasim. This role ensures reliable operation of critical electrical equipment while promoting safety and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance for generators, transformers, switchgear, motors, UPS systems, batteries, lighting, lifts, weighbridges, and distribution networks.
• Inspect, test, operate, and maintain all electrical equipment, diagnosing faults and performing repairs.
• Conduct in‑house trainings, safety inspections, risk assessments, JSAs, and develop SOPs to ensure compliance with HSE standards and regulations.
• Monitor generator performance, perform routine inspections, and maintain accurate records in the CMMS (Maximo).
• Prepare maintenance, performance, and energy consumption reports and drive energy‑efficiency initiatives.
• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, procurement, and stores to secure spare parts and complete tasks on schedule.
• Supervise maintenance teams, fostering a strong safety culture and operational excellence.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an HEC‑recognized university with valid PEC registration (Master's degree is a plus).
• Minimum 5 years of experience in power house operations and electrical maintenance.
• Willingness to work 12‑hour rotational shifts.
• Strong knowledge of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance practices and HSE regulations.
• Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, technical manuals, and specifications.
• Proficiency in MS Office and CMMS/IBM Maximo.
• Hands‑on experience with electrical testing equipment and maintenance tools.
• Self‑motivated team player capable of working independently and under pressure.
