Assistant Manager SOC

About the role

Sky47 is seeking an Assistant Manager for its Security Operations Center (SOC) in Islamabad. The role will lead advanced monitoring, incident response and threat‑hunting activities while mentoring a team of analysts.

Key responsibilities

• Lead analysis of high‑severity alerts from SIEM, EDR/XDR, NDR, email, cloud and identity platforms; prioritize incidents and act as escalation point.
• Own the end‑to‑end incident response lifecycle for medium to high‑severity events, including containment, forensic analysis and post‑incident reviews.
• Use internal and external threat intelligence to design, tune and optimise detection rules and conduct proactive threat‑hunting based on MITRE ATT&CK techniques.
• Provide technical guidance, review investigations and collaborate with IT, network, cloud and identity teams to ensure effective remediation and SOC maturity.
• Prepare detailed incident reports, track SOC metrics (MTTD, MTTR, detection coverage) and support audit evidence and KPI dashboards.

Required profile

• 5–8 years of hands‑on experience in SOC operations, security monitoring or incident response.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity or a related field.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, FortiSIEM).
• Experience with EDR/XDR solutions (Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike, Trend Micro, Palo Alto Cortex).
• Knowledge of Network Detection and Response (NDR) tools.
• Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK framework for detection engineering and threat hunting.
