Assistant Manager - Trade Operations

About the role

The Assistant Manager – Trade Operations will lead end‑to‑end management of Export LC Payments and related trade finance products, ensuring compliance with internal policies, SOPs, and ICC guidelines. The role supports commercial customers, product development, and internal teams across all trade finance segments.

Key responsibilities

• Provide advice and consultation to commercial customers on export finance and export payments.
• Support product development with trade‑finance best practices and ICC publications.
• Ensure all procedures comply with bank policies, SOPs, UCP/ISBP, and local regulations.
• Review and resolve customer complaints promptly.
• Maintain SLA adherence and monitor MBO achievement.
• Conduct due‑diligence checks on high‑value and priority transactions, including back‑to‑back and red‑clause letters of credit.
• Perform sanction screening and TBML checks.
• Handle commodity trade documentation and daily Nostro/account reconciliations.
• Lead automation initiatives and cross‑skill team members on additional products.
• Facilitate daily team huddles, audit follow‑ups, and continuous process improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 9–12 years of experience in trade operations or trade finance.
• Expert knowledge of export payments under letters of credit.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles related to trade finance.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage stakeholder expectations, and drive team collaboration.
