Audit Manager – Retail Audit

About the role

The Audit Manager – Retail Audit leads the execution of the audit plan for retail banking units, ensuring compliance with internal audit standards, relevant regulations and Mashreq Bank policies. The role delivers high‑quality audit reports, validates internal audit action plans and drives the integration of technology and data analytics into audit processes.

Key responsibilities

• Execute the audit plan for assigned retail businesses, adhering to internal audit standards and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and deliver timely, high‑quality audit reports and validate action‑plan implementation.
• Lead a small to medium‑sized team of internal audit professionals, managing assignments within budget.
• Apply a comprehensive understanding of audit standards, high‑risk areas and local regulations.
• Develop strong relationships with senior line management and understand business operations.
• Communicate audit findings effectively to internal stakeholders and negotiate resolutions at senior levels.
• Assess risk environments, contribute to annual risk assessments and recommend process improvements.
• Monitor closure of action‑plan items and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

Required profile

• Broad knowledge of internal audit standards, policies and local regulations.
• Experience leading audit teams and managing audit assignments.
• Strong judgment, political astuteness and cultural sensitivity.
• Excellent communication skills for influencing senior internal audiences.
• Ability to assess risk environments and respond to changes.
