AutoCAD Engineer – Building Management Systems

About the role

We are looking for an AutoCAD Engineer specialized in Building Management Systems (BMS) to create, revise and maintain accurate technical drawings for BMS projects. The role works closely with BMS engineers, project managers and site teams to ensure all documentation meets project specifications and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed BMS design and engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
• Develop system architecture drawings, control schematics, wiring diagrams, network and panel layouts.
• Create layouts showing field devices, controllers, sensors, actuators, control panels and communication networks.
• Produce and update shop, installation, coordination and as‑built drawings.
• Review architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and HVAC drawings for proper BMS coordination.
• Incorporate design changes and technical requirements from engineers and project teams.
• Maintain drawing revision records and issue the latest approved versions to stakeholders.
• Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, client requirements and applicable standards.
• Support material take‑offs and quantity calculations based on approved drawings.
• Conduct quality checks to verify accuracy, completeness and consistency before submission.
• Organise and archive drawing files, design documents and revision histories.
• Assist project teams during design development, technical reviews, site coordination and execution.
• Prepare final as‑built documentation reflecting site changes and approved red‑line mark‑ups.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 2–4 years of experience in AutoCAD drafting, preferably on BMS, HVAC, MEP or building automation projects.
• Strong attention to detail and drawing accuracy.
• Ability to manage multiple drawings and project priorities simultaneously.
