Backend Developer

About the role

Techelix, founded in 2012 by technology entrepreneurs from the USA and Europe, is developing and investing in products and solutions that simplify people's lives. It is looking for a Backend Developer who knows the full software design life cycle and has hands-on experience designing, coding, testing and maintaining applications. The role uses AI coding tools to write, refactor, debug and document backend code faster.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain secure and scalable RESTful APIs
• Use AI coding tools daily to write, refactor, debug and document backend code, and review and validate all AI-generated code for correctness, security and performance
• Build and support server-side applications and web-based services
• Work with relational databases such as MS SQL Server and MySQL, including using AI tools to write and optimise queries and schema changes
• Use AI assistance to speed up testing, such as generating unit and integration tests, while owning the quality of the results
• Take part in all phases of the software development life cycle, from planning to deployment
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment and follow best practices in coding, testing and performance
• Share effective prompts and practices to improve AI-assisted workflows and contribute to better code quality and architecture

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 2+ years of professional experience in backend development
• Solid understanding of the full software development life cycle
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience in agile teams
• Strong fundamentals to judge AI output critically and understand the code shipped

Required skills

• Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor or similar)
• Strong experience designing and building RESTful APIs
• Relational databases such as MS SQL Server and MySQL

Nice to have

• Writing effective prompts and project context files (e.g. CLAUDE.md)
• Using AI to modernise or migrate legacy code
