Backend Engineer – Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS

About the role

Bright Byte is seeking a Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale reliable backend systems using Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript. You will develop APIs, micro‑services, and data‑intensive services that support a growing mid‑size engineering organization.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services with Node.js, TypeScript, and NestJS.
• Build and maintain micro‑service architectures and scalable REST and event‑driven APIs.
• Work with SQL and NoSQL stores such as PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and OpenSearch, designing efficient data models and optimizing performance.
• Implement real‑time and event‑driven systems using MQTT.
• Ensure backend systems are secure, scalable, and reliable.
• Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, and product teams, writing clean, well‑tested, and well‑documented code.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in backend or full‑stack development.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Proven experience building services with NestJS or similar frameworks.
• Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL and SQL, plus experience with DynamoDB, OpenSearch or similar technologies.
• Understanding of microservices, messaging, and distributed systems.
