Chief Accountant – Remote

About the role

You will lead global finance operations through a team of Senior Accountants while staying hands‑on with invoices, payments, reconciliations and allocations. The role blends management responsibility with technical accounting work and focuses on using AI and automation to improve finance processes.

Key responsibilities

• Run day‑to‑day finance operations, prioritising work based on deadlines, business impact and financial risk.
• Inspect finance dashboards and outputs to ensure accuracy of bills, invoices, payments, bank transactions, reconciliations, control accounts, revenue and spend allocations.
• Diagnose quality failures, identify root causes and produce evidence‑based coaching to prevent recurrence.
• Identify and implement AI, LLM and automation opportunities to eliminate manual work and boost speed and accuracy.

Required profile

• Degree in Accounting or Finance and a professional qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Experience with at least five Big 4 audits and finance operations in a $100M+ organization.
• People‑management experience with direct responsibility for finance professionals.
• Hands‑on experience across AP, AR, bank reconciliations and revenue/spend allocation.
• Proven ability to embed AI/LLM tools into high‑volume finance workflows.
