Chief Librarian and Librarian (Academic Library)

About the role

The university is seeking qualified professionals to lead and support its academic library services. Two positions are available: a Chief Librarian to oversee the entire library operation and a Librarian to manage collections and user services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage print and digital collections, including selection, acquisition, organization, and preservation.
• Ensure cataloguing follows MARC21, RDA, and DDC/LCC standards and supervise the Library Management System and electronic databases.
• Support teaching, research, and digital learning initiatives through resource provision and user training.
• Maintain library records, circulation processes, and oversee the physical environment, seating, cleanliness, and equipment maintenance.
• Coordinate with the Library Committee, prepare budget estimates, and supervise staff.

Required profile

• Chief Librarian: PhD in Library & Information Science (Library Automation preferred) with 3–5 years of academic library experience.
• Librarian: MPhil/MS in Library & Information Science (Library Automation preferred) with at least 3 years of academic library experience.
