Civil Engineer

About the role

Galaxy Rice Mills is seeking a full‑time Civil Engineer to lead the planning, design and maintenance of its mill infrastructure. The role is based on‑site and involves working closely with operations, contractors and vendors to ensure safe, compliant and sustainable facility development.

Key responsibilities

• Develop engineering drawings and specifications for site layout, structural works, drainage and utility connections.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors and internal teams during construction and expansion projects.
• Monitor construction activities, conduct site inspections and ensure compliance with local regulations and safety standards.
• Manage stormwater and wastewater systems, including drainage design and erosion control.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and support capacity‑expansion and process‑improvement initiatives.
• Prepare cost estimates, technical reports and documentation of project progress.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; professional registration/licensure is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Civil Engineer in industrial or commercial settings, preferably in food processing or manufacturing.
• Experience planning construction projects, facility expansions and long‑term infrastructure improvements.
• Knowledge of stormwater management, drainage design and environmental compliance.
• Ability to read and produce engineering drawings using CAD or similar software.
• Understanding of construction methods, materials, building codes and regulations.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and organizational skills with a focus on safety and quality.
