Compliance Manager – AML

About the role

The Compliance Manager – AML will lead the anti‑money‑laundering function, training junior analysts, overseeing case closures and ensuring regulatory compliance across the bank’s operations.

Key responsibilities

• Train and guide AML analysts on systems and case handling.
• Meet daily, weekly and monthly case‑closure targets.
• Perform L1 and L2 reviews of alerts in SAS/EE and escalate to the MLRO when required.
• Assist the AML Investigation Team with quality analysis of reviewed cases.
• Support the MLRO in regulatory relationship management and optimize the TM Alert Management process.
• Participate in Reg‑Tech projects to improve automation and efficiency.
• Conduct complex investigations and promptly highlight financial‑crime risks.
• Maintain accurate records in SAS and shared drives in line with retention policies.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of banking practices, local and international AML regulations, and Mashreq Bank policies.
• Analytical thinking and sound judgment on AML/CTF regulations.
• Ability to assess transaction gravity and sensitivity.
• Experience working in a regulated, multi‑jurisdictional environment.
