Construction Estimator - Site Development

About the role

We are looking for a highly analytical Construction Estimator to join our pre‑construction team. The role focuses on preparing accurate, competitive cost estimates for site development and civil construction projects, covering earthwork, utilities, paving, concrete, and remediation.

Key responsibilities

• Review project drawings, specifications and bid packages to determine scope.
• Perform detailed quantity take‑offs for earthwork, grading, underground utilities, concrete, asphalt, retaining walls, soil remediation, demolition and site restoration.
• Develop comprehensive cost estimates including labour, materials, equipment, subcontractor fees, overhead and profit.
• Analyse risks, assumptions and constructability issues throughout the estimating process.
• Prepare conceptual, budgetary and competitive bid estimates at various project stages.
• Solicit, review and compare quotations from subcontractors, suppliers and equipment vendors.
• Negotiate pricing and identify value‑engineering opportunities to improve bid competitiveness.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in construction estimating, specifically in earthwork, utilities, concrete, paving and related site‑development work.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Bluebeam Revu, PlanSwift and Procore or similar estimating platforms.
