Control Room Operator

About the role

The Control Room Operator will ensure the safe, efficient and continuous operation of Wärtsilä Energy’s power plant in Karachi. Working on‑site in the control room, you will follow established procedures, monitor plant performance and respond to operational events to maintain high standards of safety, quality and reliability.

Key responsibilities

• Execute operational tasks to keep the plant running smoothly, following company policies and operation plans.
• Assist with start‑up, shut‑down and normal operation of power plant systems.
• Optimize and adjust processes, flows and settings based on guidance from technicians and supervisors.
• Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order and available for use.
• Monitor plant status, complete logs and running records, and report on task progress.
• Identify and resolve routine problems; escalate complex issues when needed.
• Perform corrective actions during operational disturbances and execute emergency procedures to protect personnel and equipment.
• Support continuous improvement by suggesting enhancements to work methods.
• Maintain a clean and safe plant environment and collaborate with team members to complete tasks on time.

Required profile

• Diploma in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or Power Systems.
• Ability to work in a shift‑based, on‑site environment.
• Strong attention to safety, quality and procedural compliance.
