Cost Accountant

About the role

The Cost Accountant will support the financial health of commercial electrical construction projects. Working remotely, you will collaborate closely with Project Managers to monitor job costs, track budgets, analyze variances, and ensure accurate financial reporting throughout each project's lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project budgets and financial forecasts in partnership with Project Managers.
• Track and analyze all job costs, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.
• Monitor change orders, update pricing, and adjust budgets accordingly.
• Prepare monthly job cost reports, variance analyses, and assist in Work‑in‑Progress (WIP) schedules.
• Reconcile project costs with general ledger accounts and ensure data accuracy.
• Support internal and external audits with detailed cost documentation.
• Continuously improve cost tracking methods, accounting processes, and internal controls.

Required profile

• Strong analytical abilities with a solid understanding of construction accounting principles.
• Experience in construction or electrical contracting accounting is a strong advantage.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining close coordination with cross‑functional teams.
• Clear communication skills for presenting financial insights to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
