Data Protection Officer – Remote (Contract)

About the role

We are seeking a remote Data Protection Officer on a contract basis to lead privacy compliance for a global IT services and consulting firm. The role focuses on safeguarding personally identifiable information and ensuring adherence to international data protection regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain data protection policies aligned with GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA and other global privacy laws.
• Conduct regular audits, assessments and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) to verify compliance.
• Serve as the primary contact for internal teams and external stakeholders on data protection queries.
• Monitor, report and mitigate data protection risks, recommending corrective actions.
• Deliver training and awareness programs on privacy best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Law or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Relevant certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPM or CISSP preferred.
• Proven experience in privacy compliance, DPIAs and privacy‑by‑design frameworks.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of GDPR, CCPA and HIPAA regulations.
• Experience conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments.
• Ability to design and implement privacy‑by‑design solutions.
