Daycare Nanny – Early Childhood Development

About the role

The Daycare Nanny will create a safe, nurturing and hygienic environment for infants and young children enrolled in the university’s daycare centre. Working closely with supervisors and parents, the nanny supports physical, emotional, social and cognitive development through age‑appropriate activities and attentive care.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise children at all times, preventing accidents and responding promptly to any distress.
• Assist with daily personal care routines such as feeding, dressing, toileting and hand‑washing.
• Comfort children during separation anxiety and provide empathetic emotional support.
• Plan and deliver educational activities including storytelling, arts & crafts, puzzles, singing and interactive games.
• Monitor health daily, report illnesses, injuries or unusual behaviour to supervisors and parents.
• Maintain a clean, organized, child‑friendly environment following infection‑prevention and hygiene protocols.
• Prepare and serve snacks and meals in line with nutritional guidelines, respecting allergies and dietary restrictions.
• Communicate regularly with parents, sharing updates on each child’s progress and wellbeing.

Required profile

• Compassionate, patient and able to manage child behaviour effectively.
• Strong understanding of safety and hygiene standards for early childhood settings.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with supervisors, parents and children.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a daycare team.
• Reliability and attentiveness throughout the workday.
