Deputy Manager – Operations & Maintenance (O&M)

About the role

The Deputy Manager O&M will serve as the key bridge between headquarters and field teams, ensuring smooth technical and administrative highway operations. This role involves deep operational analysis, guidance on IT system issues, and oversight of equipment inventory.

Key responsibilities

• Act as primary liaison between HQ and field teams to resolve technical and administrative highway operation issues.
• Conduct deep‑dive operational analyses, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Provide advanced technical guidance for troubleshooting IT and systems failures.
• Perform regular site and zone visits to carry out quality and compliance audits.
• Prepare and present detailed monthly operational reports to senior leadership.
• Assist the Line Manager with data preparation, strategic insights, and ad‑hoc status reports.
• Identify weekly operational bottlenecks and collaborate with relevant departments for permanent solutions.
• Maintain accurate inventory records for critical IT and operational equipment.
• Streamline equipment request processing with Procurement and Finance to avoid delays.
• Proactively follow up on equipment demand and approval pipelines across internal teams.

Required profile

• 5‑7 years of post‑qualification experience, including 2‑3 years in a supervisory or assistant/ deputy manager capacity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Software Engineering, or Computer Science from an HEC‑recognized university.
• Preferred ITIL or PMP certification.

Required skills

• Strong root‑cause analytical capabilities and executive‑level technical report writing.
• Familiarity with cross‑departmental workflows, budgeting, and inventory auditing metrics.
• Knowledge of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) software, CCTV networks, and Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) systems.
