Digital Content Specialist – Sports Desk

About the role

Times of Karachi is looking for a passionate, sports‑obsessed Digital Content Specialist to lead its Sports Desk. You will drive live match coverage, create viral short‑form videos, graphics and SEO‑optimized articles for web and social platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily sports desk operations and ensure rapid, accurate reporting on local, national and international events.
• Produce engaging digital content including reels, memes, infographics, social graphics and website stories.
• Manage social media channels (Instagram, X/Twitter, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook) with live commentary, polls and interactive Q&A.
• Write and optimise articles using SEO and AEO techniques to maximise search and AI discovery visibility.
• Track performance metrics across web and social platforms and continuously refine content strategy.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience managing a sports desk or leading digital sports content creation.
• Deep knowledge of local, national and international sports, including players, leagues, stats and trends.
• High energy, self‑starter attitude with flexibility to work evenings, weekends and non‑standard hours during major events.

Required skills

• Proficiency with design and video tools such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Premiere Pro or CapCut.
• Hands‑on experience with CMS platforms like WordPress and practical application of SEO/AEO best practices.
