About the role

The Director of Innovation Delivery will lead the creation of AI‑native products, overseeing cross‑functional squads from discovery through production. This hands‑on technical leader will own end‑to‑end outcomes across web, mobile, AI agents and streaming back‑ends.

Key responsibilities

Stand up and run Innovation Delivery squads (Discovery → Prototype → Product → Platform & SRE).
Design, build and ship Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) and agent systems, selecting models, tools and retrieval back‑ends.
Ensure safe AI operation with evals, guardrails, PII redaction, cost/latency budgets and observability.
Own delivery metrics (SLOs, quality, cost, velocity) and manage releases with feature flags and canaries.
Engage with clients for discovery, scoping, statements of work, road‑maps and quarterly business reviews.
Hire, coach and grow Tech Leads, Engineering Managers and Product Managers.

Required profile

8–12+ years of engineering experience, including 4+ years leading multi‑team delivery.
Delivered production web/mobile systems at scale and at least one AI product with retrieval and guardrails.
Hands‑on experience with modern cloud, serverless/K8s, Terraform and observability tooling.
Strong client communication and commercial sense (SoWs, staffing, utilization).

Required skills

AI models: Anthropic Claude, OpenAI, Google, Llama, Mistral.
Orchestration/agents: LangGraph or DSPy, Temporal.
Retrieval: Postgres + pgvector, Weaviate, Qdrant, Pinecone, OpenSearch, Typesense.
Embeddings/rerankers: OpenAI, Voyage, E5, BGE, Cohere, Jina.
Guardrails/evals: JSON/Pydantic schemas, promptfoo, Ragas, DeepEval.
Observability: OpenTelemetry, Langfuse, Arize Phoenix, Sentry, Grafana.
Application stack: Next.js 15 (RSC), TypeScript, Go, Python, Postgres, Kafka/Redpanda/NATS, dbt.
Ops: Cloud Run, ECS, Kubernetes, Terraform/OpenTofu, GitHub Actions, LaunchDarkly/Unleash, Statsig/GrowthBook.
