Distributed Control System Engineer – BOPET Film Line

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Distributed Control System (DCS) Engineer for a BOPET film production line. The role focuses on operating, maintaining and improving the DCS to ensure reliable plant performance and minimal downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and maintain the DCS to guarantee uninterrupted production.
• Troubleshoot and resolve DCS and instrumentation issues, including PLCs, VFDs and communication networks.
• Configure, modify and optimise control logic, HMI screens and process parameters.
• Calibrate and maintain field instruments such as temperature, pressure, flow, level and thickness sensors.
• Support production during startups, shutdowns and product changeovers.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on automation and control equipment.
• Analyse process trends and implement automation improvements to boost productivity and product quality.
• Maintain system backups, technical documentation and change records while ensuring safety and compliance.
• Coordinate with production, maintenance teams and OEM vendors for troubleshooting, upgrades and commissioning.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering or a related discipline.
• 4–5 years of experience in DCS/PLC automation and process control, preferably in a BOPET film line or similar continuous‑process industry.
• Hands‑on experience with DCS, HMI and industrial control systems.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
• Knowledge of SAP PM and maintenance KPIs such as MTBF.
• Excellent analytical, communication and teamwork abilities.
